At 14:30 hours on January 11th, our Dispatch Office notified us of a reported chimney fire at 64 Bellows Pond Road. Assistant Chief Donald Downs (31) arrived on scene and advised of a small active fire in the chimney and needed the Tower Ladder to the roof and the engine crew inside to empty the fireplace. Tower Ladder 7-5-3 arrived on scene followed by Engine 7-5-2 and then Engine 7-5-1. 7-5-3 sent a crew to the roof to clean out the chimney while Engine 2 and 1 crews emptied the fire place and vented the house of smoke. 31 was joined on scene by Assistant Chief Chris Collins (33) and Ex-Captain Michael Zarro (46). Members were up at 15:16 pm and the scene was turned over to the Fire Marshals office.
